A Night at the Theater

Beacon’s close proximity to Broadway is especially apparent in its abundant local theater. We compiled a short list of some of the best live theater to be found in and around Beacon this spring and summer.
Clove Creek Dinner Theater
Located just minutes from Beacon and offering a full, beautiful menu of dinner choices along with a show, as well as flowers and hotel packages, Clove Creek strives to create “A night to remember” of local theater and fare. A great way to get your dinner and a live show while supporting a small community business!

Beacon Performing Arts Center
BPAC strives to bring Broadway to Beacon, educating and encouraging kids and adults to learn and perform, with full stage productions and small classes. Currently, they are in production for Willy Wonka Kids Edition, and have a schedule which includes Footloose Middle School edition, Heathers High School Edition, and a kids summer camp. For adults, this spring BPAC is offering improv classes and a sketch writing course. Check out their website for more info on shows and classes!

County Players of the Falls Theater
Founded in 1958, the County Players is located in the beautiful Academy Theater in the Village of Wappingers, and offers a full season of stage musicals and plays. Currently running the popular musical “the Drowsy Chaperone”, the County Players of the Falls provides its community with inexpensive, high quality theater in a historic, charming setting. Philipstown Depot Theater
The Philipstown Depot Theatre is a unique community-based performing arts center that connects families and individuals in the Hudson River Valley with the best in high-caliber affordable theater, music and films. The theater entertains, educates and informs audiences with its programs and productions administered in partnership with the Town of Philipstown Recreation Department.
Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival
Cold Spring
Hosting outdoor Shakespeare plays with top notch talent, right on the Hudson, on the grounds of beautiful Boscobel house, this year’s season includes Much Ado About Nothing, Cymbeline and Julius Caesar.
