Well, there’s just no getting around it… Winter is upon us. And luckily, the Hudson Valley is just as abundant in beauty and fun in the winter as in the summer. We went searching for the best ski resorts within an hour of Beacon to keep you fit and happy until the snow melts.

Victor Constant Ski Area:
A facet of West Point, Victor Constant is open to the public for skiing, snowboarding and tubing. It is the nearest, and smallest, winter sport destination, offering day and season passes, rentals of all equipment, and one black diamond trail. Thunder Ridge Mountain:
Located just a half an hour East of Beacon, Thunder Ridge pairs a traditional ski experience with tubing and snowboarding. What really sets this place apart is the terrain park for snowboarders. With rails, jumps and other top-tiered obstacles, an experienced snowboarder is set for the day. Mt. Peter:
Developed in 1936 by Macy’s Department Store to show off and sell their ski fashion, Mt. Peter is one of the oldest and best loved family ski resorts in the Hudson Valley. Known for its skiing racing clubs, and ample trails, Mt Peter also offers snowboarding and tubing, and night skiing on all of their trails. One of the coolest things about Mt. Holiday Mt. Ski & Fun:
Holiday Mt. is probably the best bet for families with children, looking for a ski getaway for the day. With its expansive arcade, and activities including bumper carts and tubing, in addition to the traditional skiing and snowboarding, Holiday Mt. has no shortage of options for ski bunnies and lodge bunnies alike. Campgaw Mt.:
Located just across the New Jersey border, Campgaw offers a beautiful selection of trails for skiing, snowboard and tubing.
