After graduating from Rhode Island School of Design in 1997, Charlotte returned to her roots in the Hudson Valley to continue her career as a professional oil painter and to pursue one of her other great passions – real estate.

In 1998, she was licensed under Houlihan Lawrence in Cold Spring.  At the time, Beacon was just beginning the remarkable renaissance that has transformed it into a unique land of opportunity – especially for artists.  She saw great potential in Beacon’s historic Main Street, and in 1999 she purchased a brick building housing six apartments and two commercial spaces. Over the next several years, Charlotte renovated the building, learning along the way how to demo, install sheet rock, and other general contracting duties. She designed, planned, ran, and financed every aspect of the renovation, bringing the building back to it’s original 1800’s look. In the fall of 2001, on time and on budget, Gate House Realty opened its doors.

Two years later, she bought 10 acres of hillside land on Fishkill Ridge, just north of Mt. Beacon, which many professionals dismissed as unusable. Charlotte and her husband Dennis Vetrano soon proved them wrong by building Lamb’s Hill: a sustainable organic farm with green housing, renewable energy, rainwater irrigation, spectacular 180-degree Hudson River views, and a symbiotic relationship between the farm animals and the land. The farm also features free range chickens, guinea hens, two mini-donkeys and their adopted dog Sasha.

Charlotte continues to run Gate House Realty as part of her successful career as a broker.  Her extensive experience with residential and commercial sales in the area makes her the go-to broker for high-end properties in Beacon.  Her vision for the future of the city, comprehensive understanding of construction processes, and fine art background provides her with a unique and irreplaceable perspective on the Beacon real estate market.

Thanks to their strong presence on Main Street, their unflappable determination, and their integral role in Beacon’s extraordinary resurgence, Gate House Realty continues to thrive as one of the city’s most successful real estate companies.
